Leveraging Your Content Over and Over Again

Woman Blogging

Blogging is an awesome way to get the word out about your brand and to establish a meaningful connection with members of your target audience. However, what you may not realize is that you don’t necessarily have to reinvent the wheel every time you want to post content. More often than not, you can leverage the content that you used previously, as long as it is not time-sensitive.

You will be highlighting the value that your blog content holds

The truth is that it is not always easy to sit down to write original blog content each time. Sometimes, that blank screen can be mighty intimidating. However, it may make you feel much more comfortable if you can leverage content that you know has been successful in the past. There is often a lot of comfort in knowing that you don’t have to start from scratch every time. In fact, you may be able to use that particular piece of content more than twice. The more content you can leverage, the greater your potential to draw new people to your website.

There are different ways that you can leverage your existing content and you will need to decide which one(s) work for you most effectively. It is very important at this point that you choose the appropriate social media channels for your particular business.

  • Take advantage of graphic tools: Adding a graphic element to your content may be extremely beneficial and it may elicit a response in the target audience members that you are after. You can take some of the concepts that are in your already-existing content and pair them with graphic images. This will work well because many people are visual, which means that they respond much more positively to images than they do with words.

Of course, both graphic images and words are important in their own way. If you are no particularly comfortable with graphic tools or social media websites that focus on images, it will be well worth the time and effort to learn how to use them and to understand what their capabilities are.

  • Create videos from your content: Videos can be extremely effective and you have a good chance of getting them to go viral, as long as you approach the video from the most effective perspective for your brand. One of the first things that you should keep in mind is that your videos should be short (approximately 2 minutes each). The concept that your target audience members neither have the time nor the inclination to watch a long-winded video is the same as their neither having the time nor the inclination to read a particularly long blog article. If you keep your video clear and concise, you will have a better chance of a positive response from your target audience.

  • Try out SlideShare: Another interesting form in which to present your content is by using SlideShare. Once you load your content into SlideShare, you should consider adding some effective graphic images as well, which will work well for you. You will want to make your content as attractive as possible for your readers. The more aesthetically pleasing the content on SlideShare is, the more people will want to read it. Of course, without that reaction, you won’t really get anywhere.

  • Spread the word effectively: When it comes to reaching the right target audience members, you will need to take your content and syndicate it to many different places, including social media channels, business article directories, etc. You should be prepared for the possibility that the various websites may require different formats of your content. That is really no big deal. It is just that it may require that you put forth a little extra effort. It is very important that you remember to include backlinks to your website every time.

Conclusion

When it comes to leveraging your existing content, you have a great deal of opportunity for flexibility. The idea that different people react differently to your content is actually an advantage when it comes to getting the most out of your content. Of course, it goes without saying that your content must be top-shelf. Remember, it is important that you recognize its worth up front. If you are at a loss regarding your topics of choice, you may want to get inspiration from what other business owners are writing.  You have the potential for a really wide reach. You may not realize that you are sitting on a goldmine.
