Using WIIFM to Convert Website Visitors Into Clients

keyboard-coffee-writing
Obtaining clients is all about WIIFM (What’s In It For Me?). It is the mindset of all those who visit your website. It is also your mindset when you visit other websites.

WIIFM is an acronym used by marketers and advertisers to structure their craft. WIIFM is the idea that people respond to marketing solely on the basis of what they will get from a particular product or service. It provides the foundation for virtually all marketing these days. Everyone teaches it. Everyone promotes it. Everyone uses it. And everyone seems to believe it.

WIIFM is the most important key to your success as a marketer and as a businessperson. If you can achieve this principle successfully, you will earn fame, fortune, friends, and respect.

You need to make sure that the landing page on your website has powerful statements that directly satisfy the answers to the questions that your visitor is seeking. It is not productive for you to waste the visitor’s time with details about your background, degrees, awards, and personal information. If you truly understand your audience’s needs and you offer them something relevant, they will pay attention to you—at least long enough for you to convince them of the worthiness of your product or service.

If the visitor is interested in connecting with you on a business level, he or she will go to your “About Us” page and reach a comfort level with you where they will want to have a business relationship with you.

You should think about it from the perspective of your visitor. Ask yourself what is motivating him or her to go to the Internet to search for what he or she needs and wants. It is important for you not to concentrate initially on the features of your products and services. You need to think about how the visitor will feel if he or she buys something from you or makes contact with you.

The power of persuasion using WIIFM

Persuasion, motivation, and influence are all very empowering words when it comes to getting the results that you are seeking with your website design and content. It is very good to incorporate persuasive techniques; however, establishing a balance so that those words are not used too much is essential to the visitor’s acceptance. The visitor should never be made to feel as though he or she is being manipulated.

Of course, there are all different types of visitors who land on your website. Because of this, the manner in which you answer the visitor’s questions can make a huge difference to the ability of the website to convert visitors to clients.

In conclusion
Make sure to have the audience in mind before you develop your website’s offerings. You need to think about the qualities of your clients and develop offerings and website strategies that are consistent with their needs. The amount of time and effort that you invest in WIIFM and how it can affect the success of your business will pay off in a very positive way.
