Using Twitter to Heighten Your SEO
It is important to remember that Twitter is a critical part of your business’s search engine strategy. In fact, Twitter has a lot of other social platforms beat as an extremely significant source for search engine optimization (SEO).
There are several ways in which you can turn your Twitter account into an incredible SEO vehicle.
Choose your name wisely
When you are in the process of setting up your Twitter account, you will be asked for two different names. The first name is the real one (your name or your business’s name) and there is a maximum of 20 characters allowed. With that name, It is important to choose a name that other people will be inclined to search for. The second name follows the “@” symbol. Your character limit for that name is 15. You may find that you need to do some trimming in order to not exceed the character limit. If you happen to have a company name that is long, you should consider abbreviating (of course, you will want to retain the most important part of the name in the abbreviation).
Create wonderful content
When tweeting for business, it is not inappropriate for you to interject a personal observation once in a while. However, in general, you should keep your content professional. Bear in mind that the content that you post is the same content that other people will be sharing with people whom they know. It is critical that you use keywords that are relevant and hashtags that give you the maximum visibility on search results that will benefit your business.
Supply links to your URL(s)
Twitter links encourage your followers to visit your website and compel them to do additional research. This is one of the important reasons why keywords and key phrases are so important. Your keywords lead people to places that they can go to find out more about you and your business.
Follow influencers in your niche on Twitter
If you make it a point to follow influencers who are relevant to your industry, there is a great chance that they will follow you back. Those people who do follow you back will see links to new content that have posted. You should also make it a policy to retweet posts that the influencers post if you feel that others will benefit from that content.
Use hashtags when sharing links and tips
If you use a hashtag in your content, the reader will be able to figure out the topic easily. With that in mind, you should use hashtags that are relevant to your niche or industry and place them at the the beginning of your posts. Another important thing for you to do is to become very knowledgeable about how to use the blogging platform. Understanding what you are doing will help you to build credibility and trustworthiness with your readers. Remember that it isn’t enough to simply tweet your content. It is also important for you to read other people’s content and to engage in discussions. It is important to bear in mind that it should be more about quality than quantity.
Conclusion
Twitter heightens your SEO capabilities and excellent SEO results lead to more revenue for your business and to greater professional success. If you optimize your Twitter account, you are increasing your online visibility as well. The more followers you have, the stronger your reputation will be. Bear in mind that your success won’t happen overnight. It is important to be patient, persistent, and consistent in your efforts. You will see that success will come as a result of all of your hard work.

This is a great article Michael. It’s short and sweet.
I typically write about similar topics that relate to Twitter recruitment for employers and this hits every point right on the nose. In my opinion, the importance of being easily found is essential. When developing an excellent employer brand one must be highly aware and engaged with SEO in order to achieve excellence and to attract followers!

Thanks for posting the tips on how use Twitter to advertise one’s business more effectively. I am relatively new to Twitter and I keep trying to figure out a way to better represent my services using Twitter….so far, I have nada. It’s funny because I have great ideas for other SMBs on what they can Twitter about but for my services I can’t think of anything new and different, fresh and unique for the services I offer that haven’t already been tweeted about from others in my field. Also, it’s the tweeting one line sentences that I draw a blank on….I love to write but it ends up being more than one line…hmm, like here for instance!
